Worcester Literary Event and 42

I would just like to thank the founder Lisa Ventura and organisers of Worcester Literary Event along with fabulous members of 42, who all very welcoming. It was an explosive night with wonderful insights throughout. Personally, I enjoyed each and every performance from members of 42, all evoking in different ways. Not to mention Adam’s bit in the middle, that, for the second time in a row, I was not privy to before the proceedings, I can tell you, I was on tenterhooks and wondering how many times I may have to apologise for my husband’s behaviour at the end of the night, but fortunately, he excelled…and there were no teen ‘paranormal romance’ lovers in the audience. Adam gave a talk about his love affair for all things that go ‘bump’ in the night, walking the listeners through, in true Millard fashion, a comedic take on his perspective of literary and film horror over the ages and giving insight into the the people that inspired him.  Of course, it wasn’t just Adam. There were, as mentioned, some fantastic performances and excerpt readings presented by members of the very talented 42, an eclectic evening of horror, with everything from real life suffering, through to the macabre, with vampires, ghosts, murderers and even the not so inanimate tree. A mix of poetry and short stories that did keep me riveted to my seat throughout, I thoroughly recommend a visit for anyone who wants a night out to make their mind tingle, I for one certainly look forward to attending another of their events, hopefully in the not to distant future… and I must add, a very special thanks should go to the very accommodating Andrew Owens, a true scholar and a gent, (not forgetting his lovely wife Sam).
